What is Salsa?


sal·sa (säl'sə) n.

1. A spicy sauce of chopped, usually uncooked vegetables or fruit, especially tomatoes, onions, and chili peppers, used as a condiment.

2. Music A popular form of Latin-American dance music, characterized by Afro-Caribbean rhythms, Cuban big-band dance melodies, and elements of jazz and rock.


Both definitions found in the American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language describe something great. Who doesn’t like salsa? Mmmm....I am getting hungry just thinking about my mom’s homemade salsa on anything!


Wait...wrong salsa!


So what is this non edible salsa that has been taking the Las Vegas valley by storm? It is music, a dance style, a culture, a passion, constantly evolving, an exercise, sexy, and most of all it is addicting!


Here in this site when we refer to Salsa, we are referring to the dance style of Salsa, but also to any of the other Latin dances: Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata, Casino Salsa, Samba, Cha-Cha...


Salsa has its roots in many places, it is influenced even today from many sources.
